HINTS & TIPS

Take $25 for your Visa and you can also exchange USD for Egyptian Pounds (LE or EGP) at the bank in the immigration hall at the airport, or use the cashpoints available throughout the main cities

Always carry Egyptian Pounds (LE or EGP) with you preferably in small denominations as these come in useful for tips, toilets, meals not included, drinks, snacks, and laundry

Always wear a high factor sunsceen

Take your own tissues or wipes (at some toilets you will be asked to pay for toilet paper by the locals)

Always have water with you to keep hydrated.

The days in Egypt are hot but in the winter months, the evenings can be chilly, dress in layers if necessary. Shorts and T-shirts are okay for tourist sites but please respect the local culture when you are not in these areas. Women should cover their knees and shoulders and remember to take a hat as the sun can be scorching.
Tipping is part of the culture in Egypt but not mandatory . Restaurants usually have the tip included in the bill but if you want to give more it is at your discretion, however the Egyptians work extremely hard and long hours caring for the tourists so tipping always shows your appreciation .Your guide is best tipped at the end of your trip 80-100 EGP per day but again totally at your discretion
